Suspected US airstrike leaves three dead in north-west Pakistan Islamabad - At least three people were killed Saturday in a missile strike by suspected US drones in Pakistan's restive tribal region along the border with Afghanistan, officials said.

Two missiles hit a house used for Taliban meetings in Match village near Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan district late in the evening.

"Three dead bodies and two injured have so far been retrieved from the debris," a security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.

US to remove North Korea from terrorism list in nuclear deal Washington - The United States has agreed to remove North Korea from its terrorism blacklist in exchange for that country's agreement to allow international inspectors access to its nuclear programs, the US State Department announced Saturday.

The announcement, broadcast by CNN, is another step in US efforts to wean North Korea off its nuclear programmes. That has been one of the goals of six party negotiations between the two countries, plus Russia, China, South Korea and Japan.

Pranab Mukherjee says India is not against US-Pakistan nuclear deal

External Affairs Minister Pranab MukherjeeWashington, Oct 11 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday night indicated that it would not mind the United States entering a civil nuclear deal with Pakistan.

At a press conference, after signing the bilateral 123 Agreement with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Mukherjee said, "We believe every country has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes."

Mukherjee’s statement was in response to a question asked about Islamabad''s demand for an India-like nuclear deal with the US.
