Lake Forest, Illinois - Western Digital is the first out of the gate in the race to produce a hard drive offering two terabytes (TB) of storage.

The WD20EADS, a 3.5-inch drive with 32 megabytes (MB) of cache, is part of the WD Caviar Green series and will be available in stores for around 300 dollars, the company reports. Four storage disks with a capacity of 500 gigabytes (GB) each are housed inside the casing.

Los Angeles  - The league-leading Los Angeles Lakers tweaked their roster Saturday, dealing little-used Serbian forward Vladimir Radmanovic to the Charlotte Bobcats for Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown, a pair of young, unproven players.

It marks the second straight campaign with an in-season trade for the Lakers (40-9), who last week lost starting center Andrew Bynum for at least two months with a torn knee ligament. En route to the 2008 NBA Finals, they dealt Brian Cook to Orlando for swingman Trevor Ariza.

Washington  - The US Senate spent much of Saturday debating the economic stimulus package on which lawmakers had reached a compromise a day earlier in a bid to pull the United States out of recession.

A bipartisan group of senators put forward a tentative deal late Friday on a 780-billion-dollar recovery plan. The compromise would strip some 150 billion dollars out of an earlier version of the legislation before the Senate.

Munich - The US policy of taking world events into its own hands was officially buried by US Vice President Joe Biden in a major policy speech Saturday before the Munich Security Conference.

Now it remains to be seen whether the United States will follow through on its promises to consult with its allies and talk with its enemies - and how European leaders will cope with a world where they are expected to provide not just counsel, but also the manpower to turn their policy proposals into reality.

But while European and US leaders on Saturday agreed that the West has the will to work with Russia on some of the world's toughest problems, they are still looking for a way to do it following Russia's "gas war" with Ukraine and its real war with Georgia.

Dhaka - A senior US State Department official Saturday assured that Washington would support Bangladesh's proposal for a regional anti-terrorism taskforce in South Asia.

"It is a good idea. We will see how other countries in the region react. We will look forward to supporting it, if needed," the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Richard A Boucher, said after a meeting with Bangladesh Home Minister Sahara Khatun.
