Black police chief: Ethnic officers still losing out

London, Oct. 6 : Britain''s first black chief constable has claimed that ethnic minority officers have to work twice as hard as their white peers to gain recognition. According to The Independent, Mike Fuller, Chief Constable of Kent, has revealed that over 70 per cent of black policemen and women say they have been subjected to racism at work.

The Black Police Association (BPA) says it will actively discourage potential applicants from joining a force marked by a "hostile atmosphere where racism is allowed to spread".

Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan said that Saudi Arabian women are encouraged to use eye makeup and look seductive when allowed to wear a veil that exposes both eyes.

How much of their face Muslim women expose differs from country to country, and is an area of contention.

London, Oct. 6 : Mandelson savagely criticized Brown before joining UK CabinetBritain’s new Business Secretary, Peter Mandelson, is said to have savagely criticized Prime Minister Gordon Brown during a private meal with George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, just weeks before joining the Cabinet.

According to The Telegraph, Mandelson is said to have "dripped pure poison" when describing Gordon Brown and also informed Osborne that the next general election will be held in May 2010.

London Mayor to launch inquiry into racism at the Met

Boris JohnsonLondon, Oct. 6 : The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, is reportedly considering launching an inquiry into claims of racism at the Metropolitan Police.

The proposed inquiry follows allegations by ethnic minority officers that Scotland Yard is plagued by discrimination, the Guardian has learned.

Members of the Metropolitan Black Police Association are so angry that they have said that they will begin a recruitment boycott of their force today, urging ethnic minority applicants not to join it because it is racist. They are considering advertising in newspapers as part of their campaign.

2 million Brits can’t stand work colleagues!

London, October 6 : Two million Brits dislike going to work because they cannot tolerate their colleagues, according to a new study.

Eight per cent confessed that they hated people at work, and nearly a third have quit jobs because of it.

While 25 per cent admitted that they put up with their workmates only because they were paid to, a 29 per cent said they hated them for licking their bosses’ feet.

Around 50 per cent declared that they did not socialise outside work, with 25 per cent saying that they did only if they were forced to.

According to British tabloid The Sun, an interesting two third thought how their colleagues managed to reach the level that they did despite being awful with what they do.
