London - Britain's leading Financial Times newspaper Monday threw its weight behind US presidential candidate Barack Obama, saying the campaign had shown that the Democrat was the "right choice" to lead the US.

"At the outset, we were not so confident. Mr Obama is inexperienced. His policies are a blend of good, not so good and downright bad," said the newspaper.

But the public had "learned a lot" about Obama and the Republican cndidate, John McCain.

London, Oct 27 : A new guidebook has published a list of 500 endangered sites across the world that are most at risk from developers and climate change.

According to a report in Telegraph, the guidebook is titled “Frommer’s 500 Places To See Before They Disappear”.

The book will look at places to visit that feature endangered landscapes, ecosystems, buildings, cultural spots and animal species.

“The devastation wrought by climate change and direct man-made interference is familiar to all of us,” said o-author Holly Hughes, a former executive editor of Fodor’s Travel Publications.

London, Oct 27: Scientists has called for a ranking system for proposals to repair the damage done to Earth’s climate.

When it comes to repairing damage done to the Earth’s climate, there’s no shortage of ideas, ranging from schemes to put “sunshades” in orbit to burying the offending carbon dioxide underground.

According to a report in New Scientist, Philip Boyd of the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research in Dunedin, New Zealand, has said that ideas won’t be enough. So, there is an urgent need to rank those proposals to work out which should undergo rigorous testing.

London, Oct 27 : Viagra can overcome the signalling defect and relieve exercise-induced fatigue associated with muscular dystrophies, according to a new study.

In the study on mice, researchers at University of Iowa showed that Viagra could alleviate fatigue in the animals with mislocalized enzyme called neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).

They also showed that there was a difference between the prolonged fatigue after mild exercise in muscular dystrophy patients and the inherent muscle weakness caused by the disease.

The researchers identified a faulty signalling pathway that apparently leads to exercise-induced fatigue in mouse models of muscular dystrophy.

In an Internet hate-message, he is learnt to have said that kids over 15 could carry knives for protection. Legally, it’s not allowed but Islamically it’s OK,” The Sun quoted Bakri as saying.
