Amy Winehouse faces losing her voice due to chaotic lifestyle

London, Oct 29 : Troubled singer Amy Winehouse now faces losing the most important asset of her life – her voice.

Winehouse’s friends fear that the erratic lifestyle the singer has been leading has caused so much damage that she will not be able to make another album.

To confirm fears, a source at her record company Island said that progress on her next album was “going slower than we’d have hoped”.

“She’s struggling. We just hope the wait is worth it,” the Daily Star quoted the source as saying.

“She’s got the genius in there, it’s just taking more coaxing to get it out these days,” he added.

Brits have at least nine sexual partners on average in their lifetimes

London, Oct 29 : You can call them experimenting or promiscuous, but according to a sex poll, an average Briton has had at least nine sexual partners.

The survey, conducted by ICM Research in Sept 2008 interviewed a sample of 1,044 UK adults, above 16 years of age.

The participants were asked to complete a confidential questionnaire, which was then placed in a sealed envelope. Also, the researchers conducted Interviews across the country and weighed the results to the profile of all adults.

According to the survey, only 20 per cent of the population have had more than 10 sexual partners, reports The Guardian.

Astronauts wouldn’t need to wear spacesuits in NASA’s new Moon rover

London, Oct 29 : NASA has unveiled a new lunar rover that aims to transform space exploration by allowing astronauts to roam large distances without cumbersome spacesuits when they return to the Moon by 2020.

According to a report in New Scientist, a team of scientists is testing the Small Pressurized Rover Concept vehicle, which resembles a small, futuristic recreational vehicle mounted on six sets of wheels.

The trials are taking place in a rocky, barren corner of northern Arizona, selected for its similarities to the surface of the Moon.

“This is the next generation of lunar exploration,” said NASA’s Doug Craig.

Britons send staggering 217m texts per day

London, Oct 29 : The number of text messages being sent by Britons continues to soar – with an average of 217m messages per day – according to a new report.

The numbers have significantly increased by more than 60 million text messages per day, compared to last year.

The report by Mobile Data Association revealed that Brit mobile phone users have been sending almost 1.5m picture and video-based text messages every day, which has increased by 20 per cent on the same period in 2007.

The Mobile Data Association tracked the volume and type of messages sent between July and September this year.
