The Shakespeare fan’s skull was used by actor David Tennant during the famous “Alas, poor Yorick” scene.

When André Tchaíkowsky died of cancer in 1982 aged 46 he donated his body for medical science, reports the Telegraph.

British cost of Iraq and Afghanistan crosses 13 billion pounds

Iraq & USLondon, Nov. 26 : The British Ministry of Defence has revealed that the cost of the offensives in Iraq and Afghanistan has crossed 13 billion pounds in six years so far, and there is a need for more than 2.3 billion pounds to pay for the campaign in southern Helmand province this year.

According to The Times, most of the funds have come from Treasury contingency reserves, although the ministry has had to bear some of the financial burden from its own budget to share the costs of new armoured vehicles sent to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Coldplay songs are jinxed on ‘X Factor’

Coldplay Rock BandLondon, Nov 26 : While Brit rock band Coldplay was discussing ‘The X Factor’ episode they had missed while on the road, the topic about their songs being a jinx for the show came up.

As the band had been touring the US for most of the latest series, they had missed out on a lot of the show and were asking for an update on it, in their dressing room in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Chris Martin, the band’s frontman, insisted on a full update from the show.

Arsenal appoint MLS deputy Gazidis as CEO

LondonLondon  - Arsenal have appointed Major League Soccer deputy commissioner Ivan Gazidis as their new chief executive, the English Premier League club announced on Wednesday.

Gazidid, 44, will take up his post in January and is expected to take over many of the duties previously handled by former vice-chairman David Dein, who left the club last year.

"Ivan's credentials are first class," said club chairman, Peter Hill-Wood.

Ecclestone wants number of race wins to decide in Formula One title

2009-lotus-eagleLondon  - Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone is confident the 2009 world drivers' championship will be decided by the number of race wins rather than points total as is currently the case.

Under the proposed system, gold medals will be awarded to race winners and the driver securing the most grand prix victories by the end of the season would be crowned world champion.

At the moment, a race win earns a driver 10 points, with eight points available for second place and six for third as the top eight finishers receive points.
