London, Apr 28 : If you thought it was only Spiderman who could glide on any surface with no apparent gravitational pull, then it''s time to get out of fiction and look closer to reality - scientists have created robots that can scale walls and hang off the ceiling just like geckos.

Metin Sitti and Ozgur Unver of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have claimed that their new robots - a sticky-tracked wall climber and a 16-legged ceiling walker - could tackle many jobs in the home including painting ceilings and clearing cobwebs.

The researchers said that the robots could also play a part in exploration, inspection, repair and even search and rescue.

London, Apr 28 : Girl-phone affair has long been known to mankind. And now, a new study has claimed that girls spend more than four years of their lives "on the beloved".

The new UK study has found that women will make or receive an average of 288,000 calls in their lifetime.

Those calls last a total of 42,000 hours - or 4.75 years.

As far as men are concerned, they are not much of "yappers"- their 277,000 calls in a lifetime take up 28,500 hours or 3.25 years, reports The Sun.

The Girls Aloud babe told Hello! magazine that as a teen she wore baggy jeans and jumpers - then discovered "girlie clothes and high heels".

She also admitted that hubby Ashley Cole still prefers her dressed down in a tracksuit than the glammed look.

"He thinks I look cutest in a casual tracksuit with my hair pulled back at home," The Sun quoted Cole, as telling the magazine.

London, April 28 : The leader of four million Roman Catholics in Ireland has encouraged social network members to text, Twitter or e-mail daily prayers to their family and friends.

Cardinal Sean Brady made the appeal as he unveiled a statue of Father Patrick Peyton, known as the Rosary Priest.

"Make someone the gift of a prayer through text, twitter or e-mail every day," Times Online quoted Cardinal Brady as saying.
