Rawalpindi, Mar. 26 : The palatial haveli of Rai Bahadur Soojan Singh is in shambles these days due to lack of proper maintenance.

The grand palace built by Rai Bahadur in 1893 for his family housed several antique objects such as Victorian furniture, expensive Chinese silverware in its grand rooms, but now all the rooms lie vacant giving it a haunted look.

Rawalpindi, Mar. 22 : There seems to be a fresh controversy brewing up for the former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf, as the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Association (PESA) has demanded that Musharraf be stripped-off from all the special privilege he is being receiving from the Pak Army.

Rawalpindi (Pakistan), Mar. 18 : Former Supreme Court Bar Association president and leader of the lawyers' Long March, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said Wednesday that the restoration of the deposed judges was in accordance with the promises made by slain former Prime Minister and PPP leader Benazir Bhutto.

Talking to newsmen after visiting the Benazir's memorial here, he said martyrs never die and she is also with us in this gathering.

"We renew our pledge of complete loyalty with her," he said.

Rawalpindi, Mar. 18: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has obtained the physical remand of three Mumbai attack suspects for two more days from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here.

According to The Nation, the FIA had sought the remand of the accused following India’s response to Pakistan’s 30 questions over the 26/11 incident.

The FIA investigators told the court that the accused were to be interrogated in the light of answers provided by India.

Rawalpindi, Mar. 15 : Pakistan intelligence agencies have confirmed reports about a possible terror attack on former Pakistan Prime Minister and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif during the Long March.

Police have expressed fears that the Sharif brothers’ might be targeted during a public rally.

Rawalpindi, Mar 13 : PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has asked Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to play his role and convince President Asif Ali Zardari to defuse the prevailing tension by restoring the pre-November 3 judiciary.

Sharif said that if the Prime Minister wished, he could restore the pre-November 3 judiciary, Geo News reported.

"The nation and the opposition would support the Prime Minister whatever steps he takes for restoration of the judges," he said, adding that now its time that Gilani should play his role.
