India, Poland sign pacts to boost cooperation in tourism and healthWarsaw, April 24: India and Poland on Friday signed two agreements -- one on bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector and the second on cooperation in the health and medicine sector.

Katarzyna Sobierajska, Under Secretary of State in the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism signed the agreement on tourism cooperation from the Polish side. Minister of State for Industry, Ashwani Kumar, signed on behalf of the Indian side.

 Indian president visits Poland on trade trip Warsaw  - Indian President Pratibha Patil began a visit to Poland on Friday for meetings hoped to boost economic ties and anti-terrorism efforts between the two countries.

Patil met with Polish President Lech Kaczynski and discussed economic cooperation amid growing Polish-Indian business and trade.

On the agenda were also relations with Afghanistan, Pakistan and China, reported the Polish Press Agency PAP.

President Patil visits Warsaw Museum

Opened in 2004, Warsaw Uprising Museum, with its hands-on exhibits and high-tech imagery, has emerged as one of Warsaw''s main tourist attractions.

The museum, housed in a former transformer station for the trams, is a large and takes long to navigate once inside.

The museum charts the full course of the uprising starting from the German invasion in 1939, life in occupied Warsaw, and the events of 1944 and their aftermath.

Polish minister wants ban on Lenin, Guevara t-shirts Warsaw - Poland's equality minister wants to expand a ban on fascist or totalitarian propaganda to include books, clothing and other items, Polish Radio reported on Thursday.

Minister Elzbieta Radziszewska wants to widen a law that prohibits producing fascist or totalitarian propaganda. The legislation would prohibit images of Che Guevara, popular across the world on t-shirts, posters and murals.

March of Living honors Auschwitz victimsWarsaw - Some seven thousand people walked silently at Auschwitz, Poland on Tuesday to honor victims of the Holocaust amid a controversial UN conference on racism.

The March of the Living included Holocaust survivors, some 1,800 Poles and young Jewish students from across the world in a walk going from the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz to Birkenau.

Launched in 1988, the annual tribute comes on Holocaust Memorial Day.

Israeli Vice Premier Silvan Shalom led the walk, along with Chief Tel Aviv Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau.
