Polish anti-terror officers held in gangster link: report Warsaw  - Four anti-terrorist police in central Poland have been detained on suspicion of working for local criminal gangs and drug smuggling, the daily Wyborcza reported on Friday.

A further 12 officers in the city of Lodz are suspected of co-work with gangsters. Investigators say more people will be detained, the daily reports.

The anti-terrorist police allegedly served as enforcers for the gangsters, harassing local bar owners and torturing or beat them if they refused their services. They later allegedly dealt drugs in the bars. (dpa)
