Baloch prefer Balochistan’s sovereignty than Pak’s, says Bugti’s grandson

London, July 24 : Baloch leader Nawab Akbar BugtiBrahamdagh Bugti, the grandson of slain Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, has reportedly said that instead of Pakistan’s, the sovereignty of Balochistan was dear to the tribesmen, and that they would welcome any help from across the border for Balochistan’s defence.

Pak, UK on high alert for female terrorist who may enter UK from Pak

Lahore, July 24: Following intelligence reports that a female terrorist might enter the UK from Pakistan, security forces in Pakistan and Britain, have been put on high alert and are on the look out for the suspect female terrorist who may even travel to Britain along with her children.

The British authorities had declared “red alert” at Heathrow Airport on Monday and Tuesday, the sources said, adding that Pakistani security personnel checked a UK-bound flight at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport following the reports.

The security forces also searched passengers on-board the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-757, the Daily Times quoted the sources as saying.

Lahore, July 24 : Asif Ali Zardari fears sacked chief justice might threaten Govt if reinstatedPPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly refused to reinstate the sacked chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, apparently due to the fear that the latter, if reinstated, might reopen for adjudication cases on the National Reconciliation Order and President Pervez Musharraf’s eligibility to contest for office.

During a meeting of leaders of the ruling coalition in Lahore last evening, Zardari repeatedly insisted on not reinstating Chaudhry, reported the Daily Times.

Ruling party says peace won’t return to NWFP unless militant sanctuaries remain

Peshawar, July 24 : The ruling party in the NWFP (North West Frontier Province), the ANP believes that peace could not return to the province unless militants-training sanctuaries remained there.

Party’s provincial president Afrasiab Khattak said that the militants training sanctuaries in the province was a big problem for them.

“For us, the serious issue is peace. For us, the serious issue is militants’ sanctuaries in tribal areas. As long as they (sanctuaries) remain peace will be difficult to return,” the Daily Times quoted Khattak as saying.

In the prevailing circumstances, the ruling party has pleaded for the old system where law and order in the Tribal Areas was co-ordinated by the home secretary.
