PCB to defend Pakistan’s stance over Oval Test resultKarachi, Jan 30 : Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt will defend the team's case over the infamous Oval Test during the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Perth, with the support of legal experts opinion.

A top PCB official said on Thursday that Butt has gone to the Western Australian city with two written legal opinions in his briefcase that should help him shoot down the proposal of once again reversing The Oval Test result.

"Our stance on The Oval Test result is clear," said Saleem Altaf, PCB's Chief Operating Officer.

Pak Navy to acquire early warning aircraft and UAVsKarachi, Jan 30 : Pakistan's Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir has said that the navy will soon acquire Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to strengthen its air fleet.

Speaking on Thursday at a ceremony marking the induction of a Fokker aircraft and commissioning of the T-56 Engine Test Bench at the Pakistan Navy Aviation Base, PNS Mehran, Admiral Bashir described the induction of Z-9 helicopters, AEWs, UAVs and P-3Cs as a "force multiplier" for the navy's fleet of aircraft.

Pakistan to seek clarification on ICL from ICCLahore, Jan 30 : The Pakistan Cricket Board will seek a clarification on the status of the Indian Cricket League (ICL) during the International Cricket Council''s (ICC) executive board meeting in Perth on Saturday.

PCB chairman Ijaz Butt will inform the ICC board members of the intense pressure his board is facing to lift the ban on ICL players from playing for Pakistan.

"So far, the PCB is claiming that it has banned the ICL players as per the ICC policy regarding unauthorized leagues," The Nation quoted a board official, as saying.
