Datia (Madhya Pradesh) Aug. 22 : Incessant rains have caused overflowing of water from Hansapur Dam in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia District and resulting in floods across the area.
Nowai Village of District’s Mander Tehsil has consequently turned into an island due to the gushing floodwaters released from Hansapur dam. It has thrown normal life out of gear and forced the people to use boats and tubes to move about.
Bhopal, Aug. 14 : The growing concern about tiger deaths in Madhya Pradesh have made the forest department of the National Park Association here to spread awareness about this endangered animal.
The death of a tiger by hunters earlier this year had caused a deep setback to the officials here. The injured tiger was taken to Bhopal for medical treatment. But, the forest department could not save it.

Special Adviser to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Jeffery D Sachs, said: "Most countries were not ready for a bargain as a regime change is expected in the US."
Talking to reporters in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, after a conference organised by the Gita Mittal Foundation, Sachs blamed the lack of serious efforts by the member countries for the failure of the recent WTO talks.
Bhopal, Aug. 4 : A school in Bhopal recently organised a daylong snake exhibition to spread general awareness about serpents besides encouraging a friendly relation between human beings and the reptiles.
Organised by Bhopal Academy School last week, the snake exhibition was an attempt to obliterate fear of snakes from students’ minds.
Students enjoyed watching the snakes’ specimen and the live snakes, which were put on display during the exhibition held in the school compound.
The exhibition tried to negate popular myths about snakes. Many students after attending the exhibition claimed that having learnt about the snakes, they were no more afraid of the reptiles.
