Enid Blyton’s ‘Noddy’ golliwogs fuel race row in Britain

London, Oct 31 : A shop dedicated to Enid Blyton, the famous children writer, has come under fire, after it started selling golliwogs.

Viv Endecott, who owns the ‘Ginger Pop’ shop in Dorset village, has received complaints urging her to stop selling the rag dolls.

However, Endecott defends herself, insisting that the dolls are nothing but mere soft toys synonymous with Enid Blyton’s characters like Noddy.

Endecott, who is of Indian origin revealed that she has faced racism, and she does not have ay such motive behind the dolls.

The owner also revealed that there is a great demand for dolls in the village, as she has already sold 500 odd dolls, and inspite of complaints she would not remove the dolls.

The 40-year-old director showed crew on the set of his latest film Sherlock Holmes one which read: “You’re going down.”

He said he found his estranged wife’s behaviour odd, but that he is used to it by now.

And he confided in one pal: “This is her idea of a joke – but it’s not funny. Imagine what it was like living with her.”

London, Oct 31: The James Bond premiere afterparty gained more momentum, when Grace Jones went crazy as a fan stepped on her fur coat.

The ex-Bond girl had everybody ogling at her when she blasted the poor guest, who accidentally stepped on the Diva’ fur coat in the VIP area of the Battersea Power Station bash.

Even Daniel Craig, who looked utterly bored throughout the evening, took notice of the drama, as at one point it looked like Jones was going to knock The Living Daylights out of the guest.

“The guy looked totally freaked out. He accidentally brushed past Grace and stepped on her fur coat which didn’t go down well,” The Mirror quoted a source, as saying.
