Srinagar, May 23 : The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated a massive drive to fill up 16,000 vacant posts in different departments in Srinagar and other administrative districts.
The posts to be filled include village level workers, multi purpose workers, drivers, teachers, junior clerical assistants, laboratory assistants, library assistants, X-ray assistants, health educators, librarians, sanitary inspectors and junior stenographers and information officers.
Srinagar May 22 : The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Kuldeep Khoda, today congratulated Constable Ram Singh of Jammu and Kashmir Police for scaling Mount Everest and unfurling the flag of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on its peak.
Greeting team members of the Indian Mount Everest North Col. Expedition and Constable Ram Singh, Khoda said the achievement was a dream come true for the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He said it is a moment of honour and pride not only for Jammu and Kashmir Police but for the whole state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Srinagar, May 22: In another incident of cross firing between militants and the Border Securit Force in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir today, one villager was killed and one more was injured.
The civilian who was critically injured in the incident was admitted to a nearby hospital, sources said.
The victim has been identified as Mohmmad Lateef, a resident of Kandi.
However, the militants managed to flee from the spot, the sources said, adding that army along with police has launched search operations to nab the militants.
