Indo-Pak relations won’t improve even if Dawood is handed over: MusharrafNew Delhi, Mar. 8 : Former Pakistan President General (r) Pervez Musharraf has challenged that even if Pakistan hands over Dawood Ibrahim to India, Indo-Pak relations won't improve.

"Even if he (Dawood Ibrahim) is handed over, relations (between India and Pakistan) will not improve. I challenge," Musharraf said.

Answering a query that Pakistan could hand over Dawood as a confidence building measure, Musharraf said "if we fail, you will hand him over back to us."

Pakistan’s FIA warns it may stop Mumbai attacks inquiryLahore, Mar 8 : Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency fears it may have to stop further investigations into the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks due to a lack of cooperation from India and other countries.

A private television channel said the concerns were expressed in a letter addressed to the Interior Ministry.

The FIA, which is probing the Mumbai terror attacks, has informed the Interior Ministry that it would have custody of some suspects only for a few more days and it was thus imperative to get cooperation from other countries.

The President will administer a mass oath at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

A gender development index and a report on gender empowerment measures in India will also be released to mark the occasion.

Besides, a report on the `Bell Bajao' campaign and on appointment of protection officers for the implementation of the Child Marriage Act and Prohibition of Domestic Violence Act will also be released.

International Women''s Day celebration todayThe Ministry will release Gender Development Index and a report on Gender Empowerment Measures in India in a function to be organized here at Siri Fort Auditorium.

Discussion on various legislative measures including case studies on domestic violence will also be held.

The Ministry has also launched awareness campaign for empowerment of women. Several public private partnership initiatives have been made under the campaign.

CPM MP expelled for praising Modi

narendra modiKannur, Mar 7 : The Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) on Saturday expelled its MP from Kannur, A. P. Abullakutty, for praising Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's development model.

He was charged with repeated breach of discipline by `joining class enemies'.

CPM has said in a statement that the Kannur MP had embarrassed the party by stating the efforts of Modi to bring development to his state were worthy of emulation.

Abullakutty was suspended from the party for one year on January 17.
