Afghan President Hamid Karzai to arrive in India todayNew Delhi, Jan 11: Afghan President Hamid Karzai will arrive on a two-day visit here this evening against the backdrop of chill in Indo-Pak relations.

During his visit, President Karzai will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and hold discussion on the latest developments related to the terror strikes.

The Prime Minister is expected to share evidence about involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other Pakistan-based elements in the Mumbai attacks.

It is the first time that National Youth Festival would be held in Punjab till January 16.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will preside over the function. Dr. M. S. Gill, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports and Gulzar Singh Ranike, Sports Minister, Punjab , will be the ''Guests of Honour'' at the function.

India ready to give Pakistan consular access to Kasab: Anand Sharma

Anand SharmaNew Delhi, Jan. 10 : Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Saturday said that India is ready to grant Pakistan consular access to Ajmal Amir Kasab, lone surviving gunman involved in the November 2008 terror attack on Mumbai, provided Islamabad makes a request.

Talking to reporters in national capital, Sharma said that so far no requests have been made by Pakistan, but all help would be provided to them if they wanted it.

The protestors were seeking justice and release of the two jailed Indian marine officers by contending they were not primarily guilty for the collision of the tanker with a barge of Samsung in Korea.

Fishermen in troubled waters in Himachal PradeshKangra Valley (Himachal Pradesh), Jan. 10 : Fishermen in Himachal Pradesh''s Kangra Valley are searching for fish in the Pong reservoir.

About five tons of fish have disappeared from the water reservoir this year, according to Bodh Raj, the Manager of the Khatiar Fish Collection Society.

The fishermen are attributing it to migratory birds preying on the fish.

A disappointed fisherman, Dharam Pal, said that fishing is not a reliable profession to sustain one''s livelihood.
