Chennapatna defused bomb has clues: DGP

BangaloreBangalore, July 28 : Three days after the serial blasts which rattled IT city Bangalore, the police have definite clue about the groups behind the blasts.

Talking to media after a high level meeting in Bangalore on Monday the Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police R. Sri Kumar has said that the bomb found in Chennapatna about seventy kilometres from Bangalore has definite clues.

However he refused to divulge further details.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and senior State Government officials received the three dignitaries from Delhi on Monday afternoon, two days after more than 16 bombs devastated parts of East Ahmedabad, causing grief, shock and panic among its residents and damaging property.

Total eclipse of sun to be visible in India as partial eclipse on Friday

New Delhi, July 28 : A total eclipse of the sun will occur on Friday afternoon and it will be visible as a partial eclipse throughout India.

In general, the total eclipse will be visible in the region covering northern and eastern parts of North America, Greenland, northern Europe and Asia except Japan.

Considering the earth as a whole, the eclipse begins at 1:34 IST when the shadow of the moon first touches the earth at local sunrise near a point in the North Atlantic Ocean close to New Found land in Canada. 

The eclipse ends at 6:08 IST when the moon’s shadow finally leaves the earth at local sunset near a point in the Bay of Bengal close to Andaman Nicobar Island.

A total of 16 small bombs ripped through markets, residential areas, public transport and hospitals in the key city of the western Gujarat state Saturday. Eight similar blasts hit the southern Bangalore city a day earlier.

Tata considering to enter top end luxury car market, report says

London - India's Tata Motors groupIndia's Tata Motors group, which owns British luxury car maker Jaguar and Land Rover, has said it plans to revive the super-luxury Daimler brand to appeal to wealthy customers from Asia, Russia and the Middle East.

Ratan Tata, head of the Indian conglomerate, has told investors of his plan to resurrect the Daimler marque in direct competition with luxury brands Bentley and Rolls-Royce, Britain's Times newspaper reported Monday.

Tata had earmarked 1 billion pounds (2 billion dollars) to develop new models at its British-based manufacturers, the report said.
