Two Bosnian Serbs arrested for war crimes

BosniaSarajevo- Bosnian police arrested two Bosnian Serbs suspected of killing and torturing non-Serb civilians during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia, a court in Bosnia-Herzegovina said Tuesday.

The court said Radoje Lalovic and Soniboj Skiljevic were suspected of war crimes against civilians and crimes against humanity committed while they were working as prison commanders in Kula prison outside Sarajevo.

BosniaSarajevo- Bosnian authorities arrested two Serb military officers suspected of taking part in the massacre of Muslims at Srebrenica 13 years ago, local media said Wednesday.

The two high-ranking officers, Momir Pelemis and Slavko Peric, face genocide charges for their alleged role in the imprisonment and execution of 1,700 Muslim boys and men in 1995, after the Bosnian Serb army entered the Srebrenica enclave, in the east of the country.

Archaeologists discover a mosaic floor from the Roman era in Bosnia

Washington, Oct 15 : A team of archaeologists have discovered a mosaic floor from the Roman era, in Skelani, near Srebrenica, in the eastern part of Bosnia, the largest ever to be found in the Balkans.

According to a report by EMportal, at a depth between 80 and 180 centimetres below the ground’s surface, archaeologists discovered the ruins of buildings and streets of the Roman town, as well as the mosaic flooring that has been dated to the first century A. D.

“We have discovered the largest Roman mosaic ever to be found in the Balkans, and maybe even Europe”, said the director of the local museum in Bijeljina, Mirko Babic, who heads the team of archaeologists.
