Two killed in nine bomb blasts in Bangalore

BangaloreBangalore, July 25 : A string of nine bomb blasts one after another shook Karnataka’s capital during the busy lunch hour today, leaving two killed and 20 injured.

The crude bombs, concealed near refugee camps and roadside stuffed with nuts and bolts, exploded between 1.30 p. m. and 1.45 p. m. at Adugodi, Madivala, Nayandahalli, Mysore Road, Richmond Circle, Pantharapalya and Vittal Mallya Road.

Two persons were killed and 12 injured in the blasts, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said in New Delhi.

BangloreBangalore, July 25 : At least three people were killed and 20 injured in seven serial blasts that hit Bangalore city this afternoon.

The blasts took place between 2.30 p. m. and 4.00 p. m. at the Madivala bus stop, Hossur road, Adugudi, Koramangla, Mysore Road and Nayadahalli.

Bangalore Police commissioner, Shanker Bidri confirmed seven blasts that rocked the Bangalore city and said that the low intensity crude bombs were triggered by a timer.

Bomb disposal squads have reached the blasts sites.

Schools, colleges, cinema halls and commercial complexes have been shut down.
