1900 year-Year-Old Buddha plaque discovered in Gujarat’s Vadnagar

Buddha PlaqueAhmedabad, Aug. 16 : Archaeologists of the Department of Archaeology in Gujarat have unearthed a plaque depicting carved scene from Buddha’s life dating back 1900 years.

According to the web portal DeshGujarat. com, the discovery was made at the Ghaskol Darwaja archaeological excavation site in Vadnagar, around 65 kilometers north of Ahmedabad.

Yudbir Singh Rawat, the director of the department, was quoted as saying that the grey color half cut slate stone plaque belongs to the Mahayana period of Buddhism, after first century.

BSNL To Launch Wi-Max Services In Ahmedabad

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Ahmedabad has made BSNL To Launch Wi-Max Services In Ahmedabadannouncement about the launching of Wi-Max service in the city by mid-August.

State-owned BSNL said that Wi-Max service will allow internet buffs to surf internet at high speed from anywhere in the city.

But, security features of this advanced technology will be examined in the coming times.

Ahmedabad/ Surat, July 31 : The Gujarat Government and police believe that the planting of bombs in the city was impossible without the support of the locals.

A government official said: "Though the conspiracy has a pan-national angle, it could not have been possible without the local support."

Surat Police Commissioner R M S Brar said: "The terrorist operations of such massive scale is not possible without local support. The planting of bombs, the selection of places, transportation of explosive materials was impossible without their support."

AhmedabadAhmedabad, July 31 : In the wake of July 26 serial blasts in Ahmedabad city, which claimed 53 lives and injured over 140 people, the Crime Branch has carried out combing operations in various areas here today.

It has also detained several people for questioning, police said.

Joint Commissioner of Police H P Singh said, "Massive combing operations were conducted by different teams in various parts of the city last night. Several people have been detained for questioning. However, reports from all the teams are yet to be consolidated."
