It is a pioneer step by Airtel which led on to a mobile app store, consisting of 22 different categories. It is a cluster of free as well as paid apps. In total, user gets to choose from over 1250 apps to entertain itself.

One can have a pick from games, social networking, themes, business, travel, books and even other useful software which might make things just easy. It is an option to make things much lighter as in the case of payment. The payment mode is convenient as the deduction directly happens from the balance or would be added to one's bill which is a time-saving measure.

Price range starts from a minimal Rs 5 and serves to target every class of individuals. For now one can access the Application Central by hitting on to Airtel Live or texting "app" to "54321" to get the URL.

It is again a major milestone for Airtel and a major development for India telecom and VAS space. Like US technology major Apple, India can now boast of its own Application Central.
