Prof Walsh Cautions Meteor Strike Possibility Should Not be Undermined

Soon after the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) ruled out the apprehensions of a meteor strike on Earth, celebrated researcher Professor Robert Walsh, said that the possibility should not be undermined.

Professor Robert Walsh is Executive Director of Research at the University of Central Lancashire and holds a high degree of respect in the scientific community.

Recently, NASA had rubbished rumors on alleged meteor strike that hinted at possibilities of global destruction. NASA, in a statement, said that since no asteroid have been spotted in and around Earth, such a possibility did not exist.

NASA's investigations were carried out soon after rumors of meteor strike resulting from blood moon prophecy were floated. It led to a panic worldwide forcing the apex space research organization- NASA, to intervene.

Professor Walsh said that instead of ruling out the possibility of the meteor strike, scientists should begin preparations to combat the devastating effects of the meteor strike.

Professor Walsh referred to the meteor exploding above Chelyabinsk in Russia. He said,

"The US space agency was in fact oblivious to it hurling towards Earth and if the explosion would have occurred over major city like London, the effects would have been "devastating".

NASA, meanwhile, stated that there was no scientific stature of these claims and hence these should not be followed.

Professor Walsh also referred to the history of Earth, where extinction of dinosaurs was first ruled out but later found a reality.
