President Patil expresses satisfaction over visit to Spain and PolandOn board from Poland, April 27 : President Pratibha Patil has expressed satisfaction over her week-long visit to Spain and Poland, as it helped to bring India closer to these countries.

Speaking to journalists on board during her return journey to New Delhi from Poland, President Patil on Monday said that she was satisfied by the overall response she received from the governments in Spain and Poland.

Patil's latest visit included discussions over various issues of importance, signing of agreements and having a look at many areas of mutual interest where India could exchange cooperation with the Spain or Poland.

Talking about her recent visit to Latin America, Patil said: "I went to distant countries-Chille, Mexico, and Brazil recently to reduce the gap between India and other countries."

"I went to Indonesia and Vietnam as part of India's "Look-East" policy," Patil added.

"Now, in Spain and Polland, I went to strengthen the relations with the two nations," Patil further added while expressing a desire to visit more countries in the coming months.

Patil said that she wants to project the brighter side of India before the world fraternity.

Meanwhile, President Patil has expressed a desire to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

"I always wanted to visit Harminder Sahib (Golden Temple). But I haven't been able to as yet. I wish to go there and pay my respects," said Patil. (ANI)
