President Patil admits Militant incursion from Pakistan has gone up
President Pratibha Patil said Monday while also stressing that the security situation in the state had improved "significantly" in the state as well as in the northeast though Militant incursion from Pakistan into Jammu and Kashmir had gone up.
She was addressing the joint session of parliament at the beginning of the budget session.
According to her the overall internal security, law and order and the communal situation remained largely under control during the last year.
She further said," But infiltration from across the Line of Control (the de facto border that divides the state between India and Pakistan) in Jammu and Kashmir has gone up. Even, then the security situation has improved significantly in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in the northeast." (With Input from Agencies)
