Power Grid FY, 2009 net up 17% at Rs 1,690 crore
Power Grid Corporation of India, a leading power transmission company has posted decent 17% growth in its net profit for the year-ended March 31, 2009.
During the latest fiscal, the company has clocked a net profit of Rs 1,690 crore as compared to Rs 1,448 crore over the same period last year.
Company's total revenue from operations surged to Rs 6,675 crore for the period ended March 2009, from Rs 4,702 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Further, company's board has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.70 per share.
Recently, the company has inked a bi lateral pact with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for turnkey execution of 44 kilometers long 400 KV D/C Transmission line from Dadri to Loni at an estimated cost of INR 47 crores.
Stock price of Power Grid Corporation of India ended the day in positive territory at Rs 122, up 0.74% on National Stock Exchange (NSE). The total volume of shares traded on NSE was 2,944,711.
