Polish Prime Minister: "No" vote won't kill Lisbon treaty
Warsaw - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said even with a no vote on the Lisbon Treaty, the European Union would look for ways to bring the treaty into effect.
He said the referendum in Ireland won't disqualify the treaty, and that Europe will yet look for ways to make it work.
Regardless of the referendum results, Tusk thought there was cause for moderate optimism.
"Europe will find some way," he told journalists in the Polish Parliament on Friday.
He said while some specific points in the treaty may have their opponents, the treaty on the whole was good for European Union integration and, therefore, good for Poland. (dpa)
