Pluto LNG project to expand further
Western Australia's Pluto liquefied natural gas project which is worth close to 12 billion dollars, ahs decided to expand despite the fact that the workers have threatened a strike. The chief executive Don Voelte has decided to accelerate plans to expand. The first processing train was threatened by strikes.
The project is set to expand as the results of early exploration have been encouraging. The early exploration revealed trillions cubic feet of gas. Don Voelte announced that two more trains will be approved early this year which would be costing about 8 billion dollars.
Meanwhile, Woodside's earnings rose 2.1 percent, as compared to the fact that the earnings were negative last year. Most resource companies still posted negative earnings while its net profit soared to 1.824 billion dollars.
Mr. Voelte said that the emerging markets of India and China are proving to be a big boon for their markets and the demands are expected to raise form that end. These two markets were enough to market their gas production for a decent price.
