PFC to sanction loans worth Rs. 68,000 crore in 2010-11
The state-run Power Finance Corporation is aiming to sanction a Rs. 68,000 crore worth loans with the target of disbursement being around the Rs. 29,000 crore levels in the FY of 2010-11.
The company finances generation, transmission and distribution projects related to the power sector across the country. Keeping in mind that the public sector company was able to sanction loans of around Rs. 60,000 crore in the current financial year so far, the target of Rs. 68,000 is perhaps within the reach of the company.
Though, the target of disbursement of Rs. 23,000 crore seems a little out of reach for the current fiscal as the company has managed to clock just Rs. 20,000 crore as disbursement so far.
However, the company is very much confident of meeting its target well in time. Moreover, the company is also well on its way of raising another Rs. 1,400 crore from the route of ECBs via the State Bank of India's London branch. The public sector major has already received RBI's approval for the same which expires on March 31 2010.
