London, Mar. 15 : Security surrounding Princes William and Harry of Britain has been stepped up over fears that renegade IRA terrorists are preparing to carry out an assassination attempt.

Close protection officers guarding the two royals have been issued with machine guns and the number of bodyguards on each shift has been increased, the Sunday Express reports.

Scotland Yard fears the Princes are prize targets for Irish republican splinter groups because they are officers in the British Army.

London - Britain's Prince William has spoken of the "emptiness" he often feels about the loss of his mother, the late Princess Diana, in 1997 when he was aged just 15.

The prince, now aged 26 and second-in-line to the throne, made his unusually candid and personal remarks in an article for the Daily Mail Friday, based on a speech he gave at a children's charity co- founded by Diana.

London, Mar 13 : In a speech he made at his appointment as patron of the Child Bereavement Charity, Prince William revealed that he feels the `emptiness' whenever Mother''s Day comes around.

He also said that for him, "Mummy" had become "just a word - hollow and evoking only memories".

"Losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences that anyone can ever endure," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

The Prince's mother, Princess Diana, had been associated with the charity before her death in 1997.

London, Mar 12: Disgraced royal butler Paul Burrell is desperate to make up with Princes William and Harry, it has emerged.

The 50-year-old, who was widely criticized for making money using late Princess Diana's name, was tellingly excluded from her memorial service in 2007 by the Princes, who had been close to him in their childhood.

Now the ex-servant, is said to be anxious to "build bridges" with William and Harry after more than a decade of being out of contact.

"Paul adored William and Harry when they were young and they obviously knew each other well," The Daily Express quoted a pal, as saying.

London, February 27 : British prince William may have to drink beer from loo, while his younger brother Harry faces a Naked Runway Challenge, as part of bizarre traditional initiation rituals at RAF bases.

According to reports, William may have to drink through a straw from a toilet filled with beer, as buckets of icy water are tipped over his head.

Harry, on the other hand, may have to strip off to run the length of the landing strip at RAF Barkston Heath in Lincolnshire.

London, February 23 : Prince William has been accused of not involving himself in enough of engagements as compared to other royals.

In a Channel 4''s Dispatches programme, the 26-year-old was said to have carried out only 14 engagements as compared to his father, the Prince of Wales, who touched
84 at the same age.

"William - he''s doing almost nothing. I''m sorry, but as second in line of succession to the throne, he really should be doing more," Sky News quoted journalist James Whitaker as saying in the documentary.
