“PPP will never fulfill PML-N’s demand to bring Musharraf to task before Parliament”

Pervez MusharrafIslamabad, Oct 17 : If a PPP insider is to be believed, his party will never summon former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf to present himself before the parliament to answer about his “controversial actions” during his nine year regime, because “it was part of a quid-pro-quo (between the PPP and Musharraf) vis-a-vis his resignation two months back.

He said that Musharraf had decided to resign (in August) after the PPP guaranteed him full protection, including not asking to present himself before the parliament.

Pak govt says it’s not aware of any US-Musharraf secret deal on war-on-terror

Islamabad, Oct 16 : The Pakistan government has reportedly expressed its complete ignorance about any secret agreement between former president Pervez Musharraf and the US on cooperation in the war against terror.

The country’s Information Minister Sherry Rehman said this last evening during the policy briefing in the closed-door meeting of Parliament reserved for a question-answer session.

Replying to MPs’ questions, Sherry Rehman said that the government was “not aware of any secret deal between Pervez Musharraf and the Bush administration”.

PML-N Senator Zafar Iqbal Jhagra had the Pakistan Government asked about the secret agreement between Pervez Musharraf and the US regarding Pakistan’s cooperation in the war against terror.

Musharraf says his war-on-terror decision was “right”

Lahore, Oct 15 : Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf has reportedly said that the continuation of the previous government’s policy on the ‘war on terror’ was the right decision and should, therefore, be pursued in the future.

Justifying his war-on-terror decision, Musharraf said that he had carefully weighed all the pros and cons before going for it. “I had joined the ‘war on terror’ after careful deliberations,” the Daily Times quoted Musharraf as saying at a dinner hosted in the honour of the recently retired military officers at Army House in Rawalpindi.
