Di Resta 12th fastest in Suzuka qualifying

Paul-di-RestaSuzuka, Oct 12 : Force India can hope for points at the Japanese Grand Prix after Paul di Resta missed the Q3 by a whisker and qualified 12th at the Suzuka Circuit here Saturday.

Mark Webber, in his farewell F1 season, beat Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel in qualifying for the first time in 2013 on way to his maiden pole of the year.

Vettel encountered a KERS failure at the start of Q3 before the issue was sorted. The German could still not beat Webber's time of 1:30.915, settling for the second spot with 1:31.089 after starting on pole in the last four races. Lewis Hamilton was third in the Mercedes on 1:31.253.

Force India impress in British GP qualifying

Paul-di-RestaSilverstone (England), June 29 : Sahara Force India's Paul di Resta and Adrian set the fifth and seventh fastest time at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix qualifying here Saturday.

Lewis Hamilton blazed to pole in his home race ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber locked the second row for Red Bull.

Another Briton, di Resta, had an impressive outing at the Silverstone Circuit. The Scot's flying lap of 1:30.736 in Q3 puts him in the third row for the race Sunday. With the effort, Di Resta equalled his best qualifying run of 2013. He was also fifth at Bahrain.

Force India's Di Resta qualifies 10th

Paul-di-RestaMontmelo (Spain), May 11 : Force India's Paul di Resta qualified 10th for Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya here.

Mercedes' drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton finished Q3 in first and second positions, followed by reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull.

Di Resta clocked 1:22.233 to finish last in Q3 while his teammate Adrian Sutil will start 13th, timing 1:22.346 in Q2.(IANS)

Force Indias to start 11th, 13th

Force-IndiaShanghai, April 13 : The two Force India cars will start 11th and 13th at Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix after failing to qualify for Q3 here at the Shanghai International Circuit Saturday.

After easily making it into Q2, Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil clocked 1:36.287 and 1:36.405, respectively. Britain's di Resta had made it into the top-10 when he crossed the finish line in Q2 but other drivers pushed him out after completing their flying laps.

Di Resta seemed pleased with his result considering the difficulties during practice.

Team orders need to be respected, say Force India drivers

Their comments come after Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel ignored team orders and overtook teammate Mark Webber to win the Malaysian Grand Prix March 24. The incident resulted in a big controversy with some raising questions on Vettel's act of defiance.

"Getting a podium is the next thing on my list of achievements. We came very close in Singapore. It's not a secret that would probably be the biggest target I've got this year, to get on the podium. After that, we will set goals of what we think is realistic for where our car is but I expect to be racing the likes of Sauber and Williams," di Resta was quoted by Autosport. com Thursday.

Paul di Resta impresses for Force India

Paul di RestaJerez, Dec 4 : Paul di Resta continued with his impressive showing in a Mercedes-powered Force India car by clocking the second fastest timing on the concluding day of the Formula One test session for rookie drivers.

The 23-year-old from Scotland clocked one minute, 18.336 seconds over 53 laps of the 4.337 kms Circuit de Jerez that put him second behind Red Bull-Renault's Daniel Ricciardo (1:17.418) and ahead of Gary Paffett (McLaren-Mercedes), who took 1:18.746, here Friday.
