Riyadh - In his fifth trip abroad since an international court issued a warrant for his arrest, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, Saudi Arabia's official press agency reported.

The Sudanese president will perform the Omrah, a form of Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. The trip is the latest in a regional tour al-Bashir began soon after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of crimes against humanity on March 4.

Doha  - Leaders gathered for an Arab League summit in Qatar on Monday were unanimous in their appeals for Arab unity, but that message was almost lost amid high-profile disputes between member states and the sensational appearance of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir despite an international warrant for his arrest.

Sudan confirmed al-Bashir's attendance at Monday's summit only hours after judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of crimes against humanity on March 4.

Tripoli - Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Libyan Leader Muammar al-Qadhafi agreed Thursday to focus on humanitarian and social means to reach peace in the western Sudanese Darfur region.

After their meeting, the leaders issued a joint statement saying that they agreed on promoting the Doha dialogue between the Sudanese government and rebel factions in Darfur to solve the conflict with social means.

Tripoli - Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, who is wanted by an international court for crimes against humanity, arrived in Libya Thursday in an unscheduled visit for talks with Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi, the Libyan news agency (JANA) reported.

The satellite news channel al-Arabiya reported on Thursday that Al-Bashir, who arrived in Egypt Wednesday, had been scheduled to make Ethiopia the latest stop in his tour of countries that have not signed the Rome Statute on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and so are not obligated to execute the arrest warrant.

Cairo  - Sudan President Omar al-Bashir will visit Egypt on Wednesday despite an arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC), an Egyptian official said on Tuesday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told German Press Agency dpa that al-Bashir will meet Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss developments after the ICC decision.

Wednesday's visit will be al-Bashir's second trip abroad since the arrest warrant was issued, after his brief visit to Eritrea on Monday.

Washington  - The United States will hold Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir responsible for any deaths that occur in Darfur because of his decision to expel foreign aid groups, US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday.

"This a horrendous situation that is going to cause untold misery and suffering for the people of Darfur, particularly those in the refugee camps," Clinton said.
