Washington, February 12 : Noel Gallagher saw his soccer dreams thwarted owing to a copyright clash with a famous British clothing line.
The `Oasis' guitarist had to let go of the chance to play for his favourite Manchester City team after agreeing to sign on as an honorary squad member.
The rocker in return had wanted the band''''s name to be featured on the front of the team''''s shirts, but the idea went into trouble since the group's name had already copyrighted by women''''s clothing store Oasis.
"An idea was concocted that I would sign as a player. I told them: ''''I''''m not going to be registered as a City player and not play''''," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
