Washington, Mar 16 : Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher is so obsessed with `Coronation Street' that he is begging British TV bosses to cast him in his favourite soap opera.

The 41-year-old guitarist has confessed that he and his girlfriend Sara MacDonald love watching the show and a cameo role would fulfil a lifelong ambition.

Washington, Mar 4 : Oasis star Noel Gallagher is wishing that the ongoing financial crisis gets worse - because the band come up with their best work during times of economic strife.

Gallagher, who first began writing music in the early 1990s, claims the troubled climate in Britain at the time helped them put together their hit 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe.

And now, the guitarist hopes the recession could have a positive effect when the rockers make their upcoming ninth record, reports Contactmusic.

Beijing - China has revoked the performance licenses for the first concerts on the mainland by pop band Oasis because guitarist Noel Gallagher took part in a Free Tibet benefit concert 12 years ago, the British band said.

Oasis had been scheduled to play in Beijing and Shanghai at the beginning of April but the licenses were revoked over the weekend, the band said in a statement.

A spokesman for China's Foreign Affairs Ministry, Qin Gang, said Tuesday that economic reasons were behind the cancellation of the concerts.

London, Feb 16 : English rock band Oasis are believed to be on the verge of slitting up following a fight between their vocalists and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The two brothers are said to be sporting a united front on stage for their fans during their current world tour, but offstage the Gallaghers are avoiding one another at all cost.

The rocker in return had wanted the band''''s name to be featured on the front of the team''''s shirts, but the idea went into trouble since the group's name had already copyrighted by women''''s clothing store Oasis.

"An idea was concocted that I would sign as a player. I told them: ''''I''''m not going to be registered as a City player and not play''''," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
