Election Commission to review Himachal Pradesh poll preparedness

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N. GopalaswamiShimla, Dec 13: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N. Gopalaswami alongwith two Election Commissioners Dr. S Y Qureshi and Navin Chawla will review the poll preparations for the second phase of Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh today.

The second phase of election will be held on December 19.

During their visit, the team will meet representatives of the political parties, senior civil and police officials and election observers.

CEC to review poll preparedness in Himachal

Shimla, Dec 12: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N GopalaswamiChief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswami along with the other two Election Commissioners will arrive here today to review poll preparedness for the second phase of Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on December 19.

During two-day visit, Gopalaswamy, Naveen Chawla and S Y Qureshi will hold discussions with the State Election Commission, observers, Director General of Police, District Magistrates and political parties.

The Commission will also hold a review meeting with the observers and other State officials.

New Delhi, Dec. 4: Chief Election Commissioner N. GopalaswamyThe Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N. Gopalaswamy alongwith two election commissioners Dr. S.Y. Qureshi and Navin Chawla will review the final poll preparations in Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat.

During their visit, the team will meet representatives of the political parties, central observers, district collectors and senior police officers of the two regions. The Commission will also conduct a meeting at Rajkot and Surat.

This is the first ever visit of the full Election Commission to Saurashtra region.

Chief Election Commissioner to commence three-day Gujarat visit today

Chief Election Commissioner N. GopalaswamiAhmedabad, Oct 30 : Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N. Gopalaswami will begin a three-day visit to Gujarat from today in a bid to hold ''free and fair'' elections for the state assembly.

The CEC team will meet senior officials besides visiting Surat and Vadodara where they will review the election work.

Gopalaswami will also meet District Electoral Officers of Surat, Navsari, Dangs and Valsad to take stock of the arrangements.

On Wednesday, Gopalaswami will visit Vadodara and interact with the DEOs of Vadodara, Godhra, Dahod, Narmada and Bharuch.
