Washington, Mar. 20 : U. S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have brought the era of the cocktail party back to the White House.

Only eight weeks into the Obama administration, and the president and his wife have already hosted their fair share of social events.

White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers has announced that the Obama administration plans to make Wednesday night social events a tradition.

“It’s not so much a cocktail party necessarily,” Katie McCormick Lelyveld, press secretary to Michelle Obama, told FOX News.

Washington, Mar 19 : A-list stars – including Alicia Keyes, Sheryl Crow, Debbie Allen and Alfre Woodard – will join U. S. first lady Michelle Obama to celebrate Women''s History Month.

Beginning Thursday, Obama kicks off the series of events at Washington-area schools at which she and others will speak to students about career goals and achieving their dreams.

New York, Mar. 18 : After gracing the covers of Vogue, People, the New Yorker and New York, US First Lady Michelle Obama is about to become a comic book superhero - in a sleeveless dress, of course.

Obama''s 22-page bio-comic is the third in Bluewater''s new "Female Force" series, following "Hillary Clinton" and "Sarah Palin."

Both debuted this week and sold out before they hit stores. "Caroline Kennedy" and "Princess Diana" are up next.

New York, March 14 : Michelle Obama has her mother to thank for keeping their First Family grounded.

The First Lady revealed she could not determine the contribution made by Marian Robinson and was ever so grateful for helping the family cope with their changed lifestyle in the White House.

"It''s immeasurable. I think that all of our transition has been eased by her presence," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying on ''Good Morning America'.

New York, March 12 : U. S. First Lady Michelle Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton dissolved the unpleasantness between them in a hearty round of hugs and air kisses at a high-profile State Department ceremony on Wednesday.

Party insiders recently revealed that Michelle and Hillary could not abide each other.

One such fan is Ann Fox, who works out at the East Bank Club, and loves the first lady''s trademark sleeveless dresses.

"She is setting a wonderful example of a confident woman who is making healthy food choices, exercising regularly, and is comfortable with her body," the Chicago Suntimes quoted her as saying.
