Lahore, Sept 12 : Newly sworn in Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari declined PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif’s call of installing Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan as the next Punjab Governor, saying in a lighter vein that by doing so the Governor House would become “a centre of anti-PPP rallies”.
Islamabad, Sep 12 : President Asif Ali Zardari is hopeful that the two pending disputes with India — Siachen and Sir Creek — will be resolved very soon and an atmosphere of trust will be created in which India and Pakistan will try to achieve a breakthrough to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
President Zardari assured that his government will not depend on secret diplomacy, The News reported.

Islamabad, Sept 11 : Newly-elected Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly decided to cut down the size of entourage that would accompany him on his foreign visits. The move is seen as a cost-cutting exercise in the wake of the deep economic crisis Pakistan is going through.
According to the Daily Times, Zardari will also take a usual commercial flight on foreign visits instead of a separate aircraft.
Islamabad, Sept 11 : The Pakistan Government on Wednesday evening formally accepted the resignation of the five PML-N ministers who had resigned nearly two months ago in protest against the PPP-led Government’s dillydallying tactics in restoring the deposed Supreme Court judges.
Though the acceptance of resignation of PML-N ministers was pending for nearly two months, the Government okayed it within three days of the new President Asif Ali Zardari assuming the Presidency.
