On bed of thorns in support of AnnaLucknow, Aug 27: Expressing solidarity with Anna Hazare, a young farmer of Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district lay down on a bed of thorns for 10 hours.

Satya Narayan, 25, a native of Mathura's Tarauli village, some 300 km from Lucknow, went on his quaint form of protest in Kosikala town Friday.

"From today (Saturday) onwards, I would lay on the bed for a longer time period, and would consume only hot water till Annaji breaks his fast," Narayan told reporters.

Men and women marched through main areas here raising slogans in support of Hazare whose fast in New Delhi entered the 12th day Saturday.

Students formed a long human chain at Budha Talab area where supporters have been holding a sit-in since day one of Hazare's fast Aug 16.

Dr. Naresh Trehan, the head of Gurgaon''s Medicity Hospital and the leader of medical team monitoring his health, said: "We have more concerns than last night. His blood pressure has decreased while heart beats have increased."

"The blood pressure was going steady but it has come down. We have taken blood samples. Due to his weight loss, there is energy loss also," he added.

Anna supporters on fast in Bangalore

Anna supporters on fast in BangaloreBangalore, Aug 25 : Fourteen people, including two women, have been on fast here since Aug 16 in support of Anna Hazare, an activist said Thursday.

According to Anand Yadwad of India Against Corruption (IAC), around 40 people started the fast but over the last 10 days 26 were told to give up their hunger strike on medical advice.

Every day since Aug 16, around 30 people here observe a day's fast.

Freedom Park, formerly Bangalore's central prison, is the main centre of protests, with former Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde joining them every day.
