New Delhi, Dec. 9 : The second part of the winter session of Parliament will begin from December 10. The session perhaps would be the last one before general elections, which are slated for April-May next year.

The Congress led UPA is on a high after its stupendous performance in the recent state assembly polls.

The Congress is set to form government in three states out of five which went to polls.

However, the main opposition Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) would be looking to counter the Government on issues such as terror and inflation.

“Our party would ask for a detailed report on the preparedness of the government on terror front,” BJP leader Muqtar Abbas Naqvi said, adding the Government is accountable to the people on the issue of security.

It is anticipated that the government could formalise the establishment of a Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) in the wake of the Mumbai terror attack which left the nation shocked.

“I hope that the FIA would be formalised during the session,” Minister of State for Home and Cogress spokesman, Shakeel Ahmed said.

A highlight of the ten-day session could be the formalisation of Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.

With both the sides gearing up for the session, it is believed that it would be a result oriented one. (ANI)
