Oshkosh Defense gets production order to provide Medium Tactical Vehicles

Oshkosh-DefenseAccording to the official reports, Oshkosh Defense received a new production order to provide the U. S. Army with its Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles trucks and trailers.

Part of its 5-year Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles contract with the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command, the award is for a delivery of more than 2,600 vehicles and trailers systems.

The new FMTV production deal is worth $410 million.

Robert Bohn, Oshkosh chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement, "We are closely engaged with the Army and moving forward on all necessary processes to maintain this schedule and deliver high-quality trucks and trailers to meet the warfighters' needs."

Its FMTV program is making progress, Oshkosh has said. Oshkosh is expected to begin delivering its FMTV vehicles, which includes 23 variants, for evaluation by the Army before June with production-ready vehicles scheduled to begin in October, a news release has said. (With Inputs from Agencies)
