Oil Search records fall in oil production
Oil Search Ltd, which is the third-largest oil and gas producer in Australia, has said that it has recorded a fall in oil production during the quarter till June.
The company said that its production fell to 1.63 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe) during April to June quarter compared to 1.802 mmboe in the same quarter of the previous year. However, the company said that it stays committed to achieving its revised full-year production guidance even as the production slowed during the quarter.
The company said that it produced 3.188 mmboe during the first half of the year compared to 3.259 mmboe recorded during the same period of the previous year. The company said that it will continue to aim at achieving the revised full-year guidance for production of between 6.2 and 6.7 mmboe. The guidance was earlier reduced from 6.4 mmboe in February.
Oil Search recorded a revenue of $US204.9 million during the quarter, compared to $US211.3 recorded in the same quarter of the previous year. Total sales in the quarter was 1.639 mmboe compared to 1.609 mmboe sold in the previous corresponding period. Total operating revenue during the first half of the year was recorded at $US381.0 million, the company said.
