Oat meals – a mental booster at old age
Researchers at the University of South Australia (USA) Nutritional Physiology Research Centre are searching for the possibilities of health benefits that an oat meal can provide at older age.
It is believed that the oat extract can boost one's mental health and maintain it till they hit their sixties. Although the in-process study has not suggested a concrete proof of the same stating how it can help in boosting the mental stature.
However, the benefits present in the food nutrient are known to one and all. Oats and oat extracts have long been synonymous for their health properties. For example green oats have been extensively used to fight, fatigue, irritable mood and poor concentration for hundreds of years.
Again it comes straight from the researcher of cognitive ageing and nutrition Janet Bryan from USA School of Psychology, 'Wild green oats contain certain bioactive nutrients which may assist in improving blood flow in the brain, which in turn may help with attention and concentration'. This will surely be used to curb the soaring number of people reporting age-related problems.
