Nupur Talwar Doesn’t Want Her Daughter’s Killing Showcased!

Nupur Talwar, mother of 14-year-old Aarushi who was found murdered in Dr. Rajesh Talwar & Nupur Talwar Noida last month, has requested the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to stop film producers from making serials on her daughter’s killing.

The NCPCR has also sent a copy of the letter to Union Minister of Women and Child Development Renuka Chaudhary and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Priyaranjan Dasmunsi.

In the letter, Nupur stated that Balaji Telefilms had expressed their eagerness to air her daughter’s killing as part of their popular daily soap “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.”

“They plan to glorify the concept of honour killing, a thought absolutely abhorrent to any educated person,” said Mrs. Talwar.

She also said that the investigations in the case were on, and the telecast of any such serial would affect the investigations as well as the final outcome of the case.

While responding to a query regarding the issue at the Congress headquarters on Monday, Ms. Chaudhary stated, “It is not in the interest of natural justice. It will hamper the case. You cannot sensationalise the young girl’s life. It is ethically wrong and insensitive.”

She said a representation should be made in this regard to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and notice should be taken under the Juvenile Justice Act.

In her letter, Nupur said that the majority of TV channels perpetrated the assassination of Aarushi by graphically showing time and again e-mails, SMS, MMS and other things in which they made events that were a figment of their imagination.

On her hard-hitting letter, Mrs. Talwar said, “The channels discussed these with so called experts and dissected the noble soul (Aarushi) sadistically and with perverted minds. They are equally if not more guilty of violating the law and should face the same consequences as the investigating agencies.”

She held investigating agencies accountable for character assassination of Aarushi accusing them of making a concocted report to validate their dishonest act of charging her husband for the murders without any proof.

She further said, “The errant television channels should not only apologise to the family and the public, but should also face stiff legal action.”

Special Correspondent writes:

The I&B ministry have issued a show cause notice to India News for publicizing an unambiguous MMS saying that the girl caught on camera was ‘Aarushi’. India News was hauled up after the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development wrote to I&B Ministry seeking action against the channel for ruining the image of the girl by airing the MMS, which later was founded as fake.
