Non-subsidised LPG cylinders to cost Rs 26.5 more
According to the latest indications, the government has increased the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders by Rs 26.5 per cylinder.
Consumers are allowed to purchase six cylinders per year at subsidized rates and beyond the, the cylinders will now cost Rs. 922 per unit, which is Rs. 26.50 more than Rs. 895.50 earlier. India's largest fuel retailer, Indian Oil Corp estimates that a cylinder will cost Rs. 922 in Delhi.
The central government had announced in September that people will only be allowed to purchase six LPG cylinders at subsidized rates from gas agencies in a year. The price of a subsidized LPG cylinder is at Rs. 410.42 per cylinder in Delhi and if consumers want to purchase more than six cylinders a year then the cylinders have be purchased at market price.
Government owned oil firms revise the prices of LPG on the first of each month depending upon the international prices and rupee-US dollar rate during the previous month. The government has not put any restriction on the number of non-subsidized LPG cylinders that a consumer can buy.
