Mohammad Asif confident about getting Sehwag’s wicket early

Durban: Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif has said that he is well aware of the weaknesses of India‘s swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag, and he would try to get rid of the Delhi player early when the two sides meet in a Group D match of the Twenty20 World Championship here later today.

Aiming to continue the psychological advantage he has been enjoying over Sehwag for the last two years, Asif said, “I know his weaknesses very well, and I want to exploit them yet again.”

I cannot be deported from Pakistan like Sharif: Benazir

London: Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has said that she cannot be deported from Pakistan like Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) chief Nawaz Sharif.

Bhutto said that she did not know how she would be welcomed on her return to Pakistan, but was not in the same boat as Sharif.

The News quoted her as saying that Sharif had bargained for his release from imprisonment and other cases in exchange for living abroad with his family and the foreign guarantees were provided for this.

Equities Open Strong: Sensex Nears Record High

The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty stood at 4568.5, higher by 39 points or 0.87 per cent from its last closure. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex gained 155 points at 15,769.43.

The major Sensex gainers were ICICI Bank (up 1.83%), Grasim Industries (1.4%), Satyam Computer (1.35%), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (1.32%), Reliance Energy (1.29%) and Tata Motors (1.24%).

Hindustan Unilever was down 0.33 per cent. It was the only laggard in the rally.
