With 100m followers, SelGo turns most loved celeb on Instagram

New Delhi [India], Sept. 28 : American actress-cum singer Selena Gomez recently jotted her name in history by becoming the first celebrity to officially cross 100 million followers on Instagram.

Following the record breaking achievement, 24-year-old star reportedly thanked her fans, who took out a campaign '#SelenaBreakTheInternet' to put her over the top.

This is not it, the 'Same old love' hit-maker also holds a record of having the most liked picture to her name with 5.6 million likes.

Interestingly, the much acclaimed diva has not posted any new update ever since her last Revival Tour canceled, almost a month ago. The snap garnered 2.9 million likes.

Sensex starts with gains amid Asia overhang

Mumbai, Sep 28 - Market got off to a positive start despite weak Asian cues as the benchmark Sensex rebounded over 68 points today on value-buying in select blue-chip stocks.

Short-covering of positions -- speculators buying stocks that have been sold short to steer clear of losses -- in view of tomorrow's September monthly derivatives contract expiry added to the upward move.

The BSE 30-share barometer advanced 68.17 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 28,291.87. The gauge had lost almost 550 points in the previous three sessions.

Sectoral indices led by capital goods, healthcare and auto stocks were in the green, adding up to 0.55 per cent.

The NSE Nifty recovered 21.60 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 8,728.

Former Australia bowler Max Walker dies aged 68 after battle with cancer

Melbourne [Australia], Sept 28 : Former Australia seamer Max Walker has passed away at the age of 68 following a battle with cancer.

Walker, who represented Australia in 34 Tests, was a key member of the successful squads led by Ian and Greg Chappell. He was also a key figure in the introduction of World Series Cricket in the late 1970s, ESPNcricinfo reported.

His unique bowling action earned him the sobriquet 'Tangles', while he forged a strong career in the media following his playing days.

Paying tribute to Walker, James Sutherland, the Cricket Australia chief executive said, "Max was an outstanding cricketer who played an important role in the emergence of successful Australian cricket teams in the 1970s."

Now, Afghanistan pulls out of SAARC Summit in Islamabad

New Delhi [India], Sept. 28 : After India said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be going to Islamabad to attend the 19th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit, scheduled to take place in November, Afghanistan has also pulled out of the meet.

Sources said Afghanistan has communicated its inability to attend to current SAARC chair Nepal, saying, "Due to increased level of violence and fighting as a result of imposed terrorism on Afghanistan, H.E. the President of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani with his responsibilities as the Commander in Chief will be fully engaged, and will not be able to attend the Summit."

Earlier, Bangladesh and Bhutan had also expressed their inability to participate in the meet.
