New study describes method to detect online dishonesty

Washington D.C [USA], Oct.24 : A research by University of Texas at San Antonio have thrown light on a method for detecting people dishonestly posting online comments, reviews or tweets across multiple accounts, a practice known as "astroturfing."

The study by Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo describes a statistical method that analyzes multiple writing samples. Choo and his collaborators found that it's challenging for authors to completely conceal their writing style in their text. Based on word choice, punctuation and context, the method is able to detect whether one person or multiple people are responsible for the samples.

The ASSOCHAM Social Development Foundation conducted an online survey to gauge 1,000 full-time office workers' opinions and about 500 human resource professionals on Diwali festival bonuses given by companies and their desired gifts between October 1 - October 15 in 10 cities of - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai.

Chittagong Test: Stokes inspires England to dramatic 22-run win over B'desh

Chittagong [Bangladesh], Oct.24 : England escaped a big scare as they claimed an unlikely 22-run win over Bangladesh in the opening Test of the two-match series, thanks to all-rounder Ben Stokes for bagging the final two wickets on day five at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Monday.
