At 9.24 a. m., Sensex, which opened at 17,072.94, gained 60.01 points to trade at 17,112.55 as against its last closure at 17,052.54.

Meanwhile, the broad-based Nifty stood at 5,117.35 as compared to its previous close at 5,101.5, an increase of 0.31%.

Broader markets also witnessed gains with the BSE midcap index surging 0.4% up and the BSE small cap index 0.46% higher.

US Stocks End Positive On Tuesday

Citigroup, Financials American International Group (AIG) plus mortgage firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac all recorded firm rallies. There was no obvious reason for the unexpected gains.

Haryana Software Exports Surge 17% In 2008-09
