God and Subhash Ghai know that the film industry needs new talent. It is, therefore, heartening to see Ghai patronise newcomers. Sadly, "Love Express" is an uninspired vehicle to accommodate new talents. Everyone connected with this rather touchingly disoriented low-budget romantic comedy set in 'speeding' train, is untried and eager to make an impression.

Kolkata, June 10 : The state-run Allahabad Bank has targeted a business growth of 24 percent during the current financial year 2011-12, a top bank official said here Friday.

The bank has also projected a business level of around Rs. 2,80,000 crore as in March 2012, chairman and managing director J. P Dua said in his address at the bank's ninth Annual General Meeting.

The bank plans to increase its presence abroad by opening more overseas branches, Dua said.

New Delhi, June 10 : The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has denied any action against Indian music composer Ismail Darbar for alleging that A. R. Rahman "bought" his Oscars for "Slumdog Millionaire" in
2009.

"The Academy does not plan any action relative to Mr. Darbar's comments. It is simply not possible to 'buy' an Academy Award. While some individuals might disagree with the results of our voting processes, the Academy stands behind the integrity of the voting," the Academy's publicist told IANS in an e-mail.

Mumbai, June 10 : It seems after Jacqueline Fernandez, it is Prachi Desai's turn to steam up the screen for the Bhatts' movie - she will be transformed into a seductive woman in the thriller "Informer" to be directed by Kunal Deshmukh.

Jacqueline has gone from doing kiddies' films to playing the full-blown seductress in "Murder 2", which is produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.

New Delhi, June 10 : India's industrial production grew at a much slower 6.3 percent in April as per the new series compared to 13.1 percent in April 2010, according to official data released Friday.

The new series will now compute the index of industrial production (IIP) keeping 2004-05 as the base year, compared to the earlier series which had 1993-94 as the base.

As per the old series, the IIP growth came in at a much slower 4.4 percent. It had grown by 16.6 percent in April 2010 going by 1993-94 as the base.

Bhubaneswar, June 10 : Aluminium prices are likely to remain in a range of $2,500 to $2,700 a tonne for at least the next two-three months, India's state run National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) said Friday.

"We believe that in the short term in next two to three months the prices should remain range-bound between $2,500 and $2,700," B. L. Bagra, NALCO chairman-cum-managing director, told IANS.
