U.S. sends yet another warning to Pak to go after terrorism on its own soil

Washington D.C.,[US] Oct. 19 : In yet another stern warning to Pakistan, the United States has asserted that it is working very hard to push Islamabad to go terrorist groups that seek safe haven on their soil and territory.

State Department Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner said in a press conference that another goal of the U.S. is to push for more between Pakistan and India, which will help reduce tensions in the region

"We're always working hard to push Pakistan to go after those terrorist groups that seek safe haven on their soil and territory, rather. And we're pushing for more dialogue between Pakistan and India, which we believe will help reduce tensions in the region," he said.

BJP admits that it is giving "lollipop" in the name of Ram Temple: Congress

New Delhi [India], Oct. 19 : The Congress party on Tuesday mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for making the Ram Temple at Ayodhya an issue for elections, adding that they have actually taken no steps to build it.

Congress general secretary Rajiv Shukla told ANI that BJP MP Vinay Katiyar had finally understood that BJP had given a lollipop in the name of Ram Mandir for the past 25- 30 years.

"Public and Congress has been saying that it has been 25-30 years that BJP gives lollipop in the name of Ram Temple and gets voted to power, then they do nothing about it. At last Vinay Katiyar understood it," he said.

Bharatpur [Nepal], Oct. 19 : Acknowledging that the previous Constitutions had "discriminatory" provisions, Nepali Congress leader Raghu Nath Paudel, who is also a member of the Constitution Suggestion Committee, claimed that the newly-promulgated Constitution addresses all the Madheshis' demands, even as various Madheshi groups are protesting and blaming that the Constitution is still "discriminatory".

Paudel also called upon all major political parties to rethink their stand on the Madheshis' demands, especially over demarcation of two states for them.

PM Modi inaugurates three hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh

Mandi (Himachal Pradesh [India}, Oct.18 : Prime Minster Narendra Modi inaugurated three hydropower projects of 1,752 MW capacity in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

He dedicated the 520 Megawatt generation capacity third phase of Parbati hydro power project, 412 Megawatt Rampur project and 800 Megawatt Kol Dam power project to the nation.

While inaugurating these projects, Modi said they would change the economic horizon of Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing a public rally in Mandi, Modi said, through the LED bulbs campaign, Himachal has been able to save approximately one crore rupees daily. He said, it is not only helping consumers in reducing their monthly bills but also adding to environmental conservation.

High BMI likely to have negative impact on brain functioning

Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 18 : In a recent research conducted at the University of Arizona, scientists have found that having a higher body mass index (BMI), can negatively impact cognitive functioning in older adults.

"The higher your BMI, the more your inflammation goes up," said Kyle Bourassa, the lead author of the study.

Previous studies also have linked higher BMI to lower cognitive functioning. However, how and why the two are connected was far less clear.

"We saw this effect, but it's a black box. What goes in between? Establishing what biologically plausible mechanisms explain this association is important to be able to intervene later," said Bourassa.
